The Indian occupied part of Kashmir has a long history of bloodshed.
The main reason for this are it's location near the Pakistani border, a country
India has a troubled relationship with, and the local Muslim population that seeks
to join their neighbours. On top of this the region was hit by a devastating
earthquake a few years ago. Things seem to go into the right direction but the
constant presence of the Indian army is a harsh reminder of the tension lurking
around every corner. Street scenes carry the traces of this history what just comes
to prove that the way to recovery is still far off.
