The old cattle market on the outskirts of Sanliurfa , where mainly Kurdish shepherds sell their sheep, is closed. A new market has opened a few kilometers away. This should allow new housing projects on the old spot, needed to manage the growth of population. But the shepherds refuse to move to the new spot. Although the new spot is fully functional and already open, they cling to their old spot, mainly because they live around the old market and their sheep grow there as well. Even breaking down the entire infrastructure seems not to work. The only solution for the local authorities is to start the construction of new homes, so there will be no place for the shepherds to sell their sheep. But for the moment Sanliurfa has now two cattle markets, the popular old market, and the much less popular new one, where shepherds that hadn't a spot on the old market, have now the change to sell their sheep.
